adding a heater
As we are well into winter, im wanting to add a real heater to my wbx swapped bug. i know that the wbx originally had the heater hoses coming from the back of the motor up to the front where the heater core is at. as for me, i wanna just tap into my coolant hoses just before the radiator, then bring it up to the heater core. bacially i just dont wanna have too run another 2 hoses from the back up to the front of the car. i guess im asking will it work, as in provide heat ?

Re: adding a heater
Heater fluid circuits are ~always tapped directly off the engine, pre-thermostat, to get you heat ASAP and not reliant of if the thermostat is open yet.
Heater hose is relatively cheap.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Re: adding a heater
I use an early polo heater under the rear seat which vents directly through a modified kick panel.
A friend uses a similar setup but also ducts the heat directly into the original heater channels.
My wbx cooling system has the two head outlets by the bulkhead joined with a t piece which then goes through the original heater pipe hole and into the polo heater.
The return goes back out, into the burp tank which then returns to the pump feed.
I'm also using the early style thermostat system.
The heater gets hot within a couple of minutes and it's been a working system for many years.
If you plumb into the radiator feed you will be waiting quite a bit longer.
