stock WBX rocker arms

Post by fastback »

I'm using these in my oxyboxer build with a VZ-25 cam
these are almost same as the type 1 which are axial springloaded.
is there any benefits of removing the springs and just shim them "tight"
the engine will hopefully see 7000RPM :D

Hey up Fasty, yes, just use a T1 spacer/shim kit on the shaft. the stock wb hardware/clips etc is better than the stock T1 hardware, but best play safe, a solid shaft kit is cheap insurance eh.
what retainers you using? ive had the stock retainers up at 7000 no problem, the AMC ones are nice if you can find some, machined rather than stamped, watch the available spring height tho' with T1 retainers.

As BBB said: "a solid shaft kit is cheap insurance" but I shimmed mine T3 too... (cheap horse power) (had some new wbx shafts lying around)

My puma engine will get the solid shafts and rockers with porsche swifel feet

Fasty, i expect your on the ball as usual, but just have a look and check the retainer to valve guide clearance on full lift, you can just lever under the rocker socket if its all built up.
