Zenith NDIX on Single Port
Hello,
I picked up a Zenith NDIX the other day for my 1600 single port.. I was just curious the carb has 140 mains, 24 vents, 55 idles, and 220 airs? I think I don't really know these carbs so I am not 100% sure if I am looking at the air jets right.. Anyway.. I was curious I have two types of manifolds.. The one it looks like it was on (I purchased from the same person that had the carburator but the carb wasnt bolted to it) which has two separated barrels, but I also have a holley bugspray manifold that has no divider between these barrels.. Now, in my old empi books it shows this carb being used with the divided barrel style manifold (I am sure there is a better name but I don't know it). But, I was reading on the internet that you jet the carb differnt depending on the manifold.. Anybody know which jets/manifold I should be using?
I appreciate any help
Thanks
Nathan

hlwimmer, that sounds really good.. But, I don't think they made single port dcnf manifolds.. I would convert it to a dual port.. But its got 140lbs of compression of each cylinder, so I don't see a point in pulling it apart.. But, I am interested in another carb just in case I was to run them in dual form in the future.. Shoot me a email and let me know what your looking to get for one. [email protected]...
Steve, Thanks for the info I will give him a ring tommorrow...
Thanks again all

Re: Zenith NDIX on Single Port
Generally you only want a plenum-type manifold if your primary interest is in top-end power, the independent-runner type tends to be better for most street use. The Holley BugSprays had a small slot milled in the bottom of the throttle body which was the only "plenum" that Holley thought they should have.milo wrote: ...Anybody know which jets/manifold I should be using?

Zenith carb
Didn't the Zenith 32NDIX used to be a popular off road carb? Back in the '80s it seemed like every racing Baja or buggy had one...
Yeah, I believe it's still used on a lot of baja's.. I put the ndix I had on my 1600 single port and it's amazing... It performs much like a dual port 1600 with some icts on it.. Idles completly smooth, I havent really driven the car enough to determine the mpg.. But, all in all I am very happy with this carb setup
