You have corrosion or crude built up on the studs, hanging on a piston skirt?

He still had the pistons on, all sorted. Gotta come off.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Pistons off :? , case is split. Now working on cleaning and evaluating parts.
Parts are looking really good so far.

Engine case is a T0, 1600 single port, from January 1966.
Once the case is clean I will take to a local VW shop to be measured and line bored if needed.
Case has been bored once before at .25mm/010", according to the bearings I removed.

Just got Tom Wilson's 'How to rebuild your aircooled Volkswagen engine' book.
Reading on what direction I will eventually go but most likely motor will remain fairly stock.
At this point I am wide open to tips and thoughts.
