1955cc cam choice for bus engine? help?

Post by jimolep » Wed Apr 30, 2014 6:29 am

hi guys, im in the process of collecting parts for a 1955cc build for my split. 90.5 b&p 76 crank, scat mini d-port heads 40x37.5 valves, and was thinking dell 40s,but im at a stump as to what cam and lifter combo to go for??
engle 120, 110, and 1.25 or 1.4 rockers?
my last stroker build used a scat c35 witht here lifters, but i always felt it need a few more rpms but then again the heads were 044s, with smaller valves, also on dell 40s.it had good low end torque.
im kind of after somthing thats in the middle ground, has good torque down low, and get stronger as rmp rise.

any ideas guys?

thanks jim

I have heads with smaller valves going on the same 90.5X76 and will be using a c25 w/1.25 rockers.
But my intent is a little different, as I am building a limited motor.
Only looking for 90ish hp and all done by 6K is my goal as the wifey's car ends up with this engine, and I have seen her miss a shift (or three).

If your not too worried about the valve train check out Engle's VZ cams.

I use eurorace II grind cams in the bus type 4 motors that I build... Generally you want to keep the duration below 280° to keep the torque range down in the lower rpm range

Do they do cams for type1 engines?
