I think you posted this question on another site too which I was going to answer but never got around to it (I was waiting for others to answer but I don’t think anyone did). Sorry..

Some general information; The basic type I pans are pretty close to being the same. As near as I can tell, it is more the seat mounting and maybe heating that are different not the pan shape and dimension..

It is the front beam itself that might affect your body installation. I have seen Maxi Taxi owners (usually for sale) claiming swing axle rear suspension but I don't remember hearing or reading of them talk about king and link front suspensions but they could have them. As with some other buggy bodies, the shock towers on a king and link suspension stick straight up and (in your case) could be interfering with the buggy body sitting on the pan. I do not know with Maxi Taxi bodies if this is a problem or not.

Most buggy bodies will fit on pans with ball-joint front beams (’66 and on I think) as the shock towers flair out enough to miss the body’s inner fender lines. The rear suspension should not be a problem whether it is swing (through ’68) or IRS (’69 and on). For street driving, the rear suspension should not make any difference. Either should be satisfactory.

I have never had the pleasure to look a Maxi Taxi over personally but I did see a Sand Taxi once that did look very similar. Does your Maxi Taxi have front doors or not. Not too long ago, there was an ad for a Maxi Taxi for sale, The pictures showed that the body did not have doors but the rest of the body looked like a Maxi Taxi. (got pictures of yours)

There are several other “T” touring style bodies like the Berry Mini T 4 that people often confuse with a Maxi Taxi but (they) are not the same. The Maxi Taxi hard top will not fit these other bodies and the body upper body line in the passenger area is much lower.

My opinion is worth slightly less than what you paid for it.
