As i understand it you devide the largest and smallest diameters of the compressor wheel to get a number like .50 something or
"50 trim". So why is mine coming out to be .69? "69 trim" what the hell? Its and AIresearch turbo .48 AR off a 2.2 crylsler. 87 or so.

It looks as though you are confusing trim with a/r ...Neither is messured in the fashion you mentioned ....The trim is basically the "Cut" of the wheel vanes.Think of a chunk of cheese ,if you chop deeper into the slab of food it will show a different shilloute if eyed from the end...This is the trim....the a/r is messured by the throat diameter if the compressor divided by the distance to the center of the turbine shaft...hope this helps...And most to3 by the way are .42 .48 .63 sure there are others ,but the above arev most likely what you will run into at a breakers yard...
