First post second turbo bug.
I’m starting the process of boostifying the 2165 in my rail that’s already using dual 40mm HPMX carbs. Right now I’m getting my carb hats (cb sand system) setup and installed. I’ve done my research and it looks like mod rings are pretty worthwhile to have but unfortunately ready made ones aren’t available currently. It turns out that the really really cheap steel exhaust flange gaskets are nearly the perfect diameter everyone recommends for mod rings right at 34mm.
Now the cast CB mod rings have a little profile to them whereas anything you make is gonna be pretty flat. IS THIS AN ISSUE? Or should I cut down the velocity stacks I have to smooth airflow a bit? (Too tall currently)?

I doubt it, as I understand it it is a restrictor for air so anything that doesn't change shape under air flow should work.
Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.
