1/4" thick elbows!? Those sound like weld-Els. If your whole system is out of 1/4" wall tube it's going to weigh 80 lbs! I guess it'll last forever though...
What about adapting a sidewinder system? Locate the turbo on the passenger side?

Re: EFI parts gathering
That is a really good price Chip.
And no. The thickness I gave are for the flanges where the tubes connect to each other and to the heads. I did consider using weld-els though. They are cheap and would be very stout. Like you said though. Super heavy! The tube in looking at is 16 gauge.
I think If I was to buy a header I would just buy a sedan header and snake the pipe wherever I decided to put the turbo. That's what I did the first time around and it worked fine. Super cheap too!

Re: EFI parts gathering
I have time. I haven't even called you yet Mario!
My starter took a crap the other day. Now I have to deal with that. I can't remember if I used the 6v starter or if I got a 12v one when I put that engine in. Seems like it turned over pretty fast so I think it is a 6v.

Not bad. But like I said, that's more than enough time for me. I don't have anything else yet at all.

Re: EFI parts gathering
So something else that's been on my mind. Fuel pumps. I have a thing about them. I have seen many many fail, and I absolutely hate the sound of a fuel pump. So I was thinking maybe running a surge tank would help both areas. The fuel would help keep it cool and possibly last longer, and being submerged and shrouded it should be quieter. Anyone have any thoughts on surge tanks with internal pumps?

Re: EFI parts gathering
I run an internal pump, but no surge tank. So once i get to the last gallon or so my tank isn't super great, adding a sump and dropping my prefilter into it would probably help a lot. I will say that while I can hear my pump prime, its not noisy once the car is running. My old walbro 255 inline was louder than the engine. I think a surge tank is a great idea if you have the space, although the extra pump is just one more thing to fail.

Re: EFI parts gathering
Well I know very little about them, but I was thinking I might be able to mount a small one or two gallon surge tank under my original tank and just gravity feed into it. But maybe by the time I do all that I may as well spring for one of those high dollar ultra quiet Holley HP pumps.

I was just rereading my thread and found this. I didn't even see it before somehow.Clonebug wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2018 7:39 am I was perusing the samba ads and came upon this German VW Bug fuel regulator.....not a bad price at $30.00 and someone could pick it up for their stash.....

Would something like this be better than a new Holley regulator or something similar?
