I'm not sure going EFI is anywhere close to keeping it simple. At least not for me! I thought I was fancy for having an AFR gauge with boost and volts read out too!

If I was to do it all again, I'd buy one of Mario's kits. I was concerned about price and local parts availability. In the long run, it's cost about the same and I can buy all the parts he uses off ebay anyway. If I was you, I REALLY would buy one of Mario's kits. And he's pretty well local for you (same continent). Not to mention the awesome after sales service he offers. If you have to save up, then do, but it's worth it.

So I seem to remember guys using EDIS and coils from a ford Escort. Would it be worth while to buy a whole car to scavenge parts? I've found a couple on Craigslist for $200 complete and running. I would think the junkyard would give that by weight once I've picked it.
That is if I don't go sequential I assume.

Thanks Pete. I wonder if just giving him a call and having a chat would be worthwhile? I don't know how much he likes to yap on the phone, but that might save a bunch of time and headache.

EDIS is old school and no reason to go there anymore since wasted spark is now standard. Besides....you can't get rev limit spark cut. The EDIS module controls spark and can't be cut by the ECU.
You are better off going with the newer stuff. As I said earlier......EDIS uses special plug wires on the coil side and there are other coils that work just as well and use normal plug wire ends.

Go find a 94-95 turbo Volvo wagon at the junk yard....you can get the pump, filter, injectors, TB and IAC from them for cheap.
I paid $20.00 for all of it. You have to get the older ones because all the new stuff now has drive by wire TB's.

Haha!
I went to the yards today. No turbo volvo's that old here right now. I will keep my eyes peeled. Might try to do some research and see what else might work.

Hey Clone (or anyone else that might know) I found a 1988 Volvo 760 GLE Turbo. So I tried to do some research as to what the 94' 850 turbo had for injectors and throttle body like you suggested and I can't find crap on either to compare them. Anyone know of a good place to get this sort of info?
Here is the listing but it's not much help. https://jacksonville.craigslist.org/pts ... 96302.html

I "Think" 2007 was about the first year of "Drive by Wire".......so you have a little leeway.
That doesn't mean you can't grab the pump and injectors.
*-804 is the 32# injector's last three numbers....the rest are standard Bosch numbers.
Look on the internet. there are many sites that list details on injectors.

Here is a site with lots of info......

Study the injector website I listed above.....it has lots of injectors and what vehicle they come from along with the flow rates.

I wouldn't bother with anything less than 30-32 lbs/hr.

The 760 and 850 had different engines than the 940 inline 4 cylinder turbo...... the injectors would be too small.

I looked earlier and it said 1999 was the first year they went drive by wire. I don't know if that was across the board or only some models though.

Also I guess for me, that car is about an hour away. I'm not sure it would be worth it if I couldn't get the throttle body too.
Oh and I wanted to ask because you guys surely know. I looked on eBay and new injectors there are mega cheap. Are the no name brands there junk?

So how do you know how big of an injector you can use? I'd like to get some that are on the upper end so I have room to grow.
