Put some strips of string all over the back of your buggy and video which way they move when you drive.
On my buggy there was a fair amount of backdraft so very little air would go in the intercooler when driving.

It still makes a decent amount of difference especially if you already have WI.
When we did the dyno pulls the IAT's were around 73 degrees F.
That was with 38 degree outside air temps.
My original test in November showed at least a 30 degree temp drop which is not too bad considering it only cost me about $40.00 to build it.
I do have the fan on it now and haven't really tested that but I doubt it will make a lot of difference.

But i see you also have a backseat hanging over the top edge of your rear end of the buggy.
"If i just plan it out in my head" and get the intercooler close to the top edge of the buggy and the scoop poking out of the top i gueass the backflow would be a little lower?
I will lookninto that a little more.
Anyway, i will make sure i can install the w/m injection. Have the needed plumbing in the intake and install/configure when needed.

Clone did you have a fan or anything on the intercooler when you were on the dyno?

The fan was there but not hooked to the ECU control yet.
I can't remember if I had it hooked to the Hobbs pressure switch or not.

I got the v-band clamps in today.
12 days from purchase to delivery from china.
Cost me a bit over 50€ for 3 clamps, 2x 1.5 inch for the connection between j-pipes and 4in1 and 1x 2.25inch for the turbo outlet.
All in stainless steel.
No extra duties or taxes or shipping costs.
Ordered on aliexpress.com
The 1.5inch
The 2.25inch
Fits really nice on the turbo:
The turbo build closet is getting filled nicely:
The flanges are made and shipped too. I expect those end this week or next week.

What ECU and is the wastegate you want just an integral/internal one off the turbo or you going with an external? And for the BOV.....looking at a wrecker for one like a platic Bosch or aftermarket ?

I think going for a cb gen4 ecu.
Turbosmart bov and wastegate.
All going in an open engine bay. So i want a good looking engine.
$$$ - wise not the smartest route to go but im saving up for it to do it right the first time.

Are they hose tail injectors you have in those manifolds? What are they off?
P.s. is the CB ECU up to the sort of complexity you'll want for a turbo motor? I'd be surprised if it's as good MS stuff.

It has all the features and many more that i need in an ecu
The injectors that are in there are the stock vws.
I have bigger ones in the brown box. See a few posts back.
I will get a common fuel rail and brackets from cb

I watched a vid the other day of the CB unit and it seemed to do almost everything the average builder would want.

Its a nice ecu. You can get a lot more MS for the money, but it does have some pretty cool features.
