4bbl intake fabrication
Hey guys is like to make myself a new intake. The one I made last time works ok but it's ugly. I just split a pipe and then extended it to reach the Holley. This time is like to make one more like what everyone else has. Could someone post up some rough measurements for me to get started with? My daughter and I made one out of construction paper the other night and it looks like the sides need to taper down more so it transitions easier to where it goes into the turbo. This is a draw through 4bbl.

Got any pictures of what have that you could post?
Just a thought: could you use a 4-into-one collector as a base/plenum for the carb adapter to sit on. It would take some work but the connectors for the tubes would be there. I think I have seen that done or talked about before.

I'm thinking something like this. I already bought a 4bbl flange so I just have to fab the walls and shape the end to 2 1/2" to match the turbo.

I don't know much, if anything, about turbo's and only a bit more about blowers.
Looking at the picture (the URL) the tube changes shape in the bend. Does that make a difference in air-flow or does the compressed pressure of the turbo off-set that? I think you can get 3" dia. 90° tube but is the radius going to be so big that you can't account for it during trimming. I seem to remember that sharp corners/bend aren't desirable.
The other thing you might try is to make a shape you want, as a mold to the specs you want, then form the metal around it . Not hard but it can be time consuming. This way you can reduce/work around any limitations that might exist.

Yeah that's kind of why I was making one out of construction paper first. That way it would be easy to shape and then go back to flat so I would know what to cut out of the flat stock.

That's what I'm looking to do. No oil ports for me though. It's hot enough here that I don't think it's necessary.
