You know after looking on their site, they pretty much look like that there too. Must just be how they are.

I swore off CB products years ago when I had a set of straight cut cam gears snap during engine break in. I decided to give them another try because the products fit my needs. I have been nothing but disappointed in most of the products. After these heads I think I am done again. There are other products that I can spend my money on. AA, Lowbugget, EMPI(DRD), Aircooled.net, and a few others have CNC heads. SL1 racing makes some beautiful hand ported heads. Good luck on finding what you need for your build.

AA does CNC, Empi does CNC. I may have a chance to see a set of Panchitos tomorrow, I'll see how those look.

Yeah. I called Tims a while back and he was pretty helpful too. I guess really the sealing part of those CB heads have enough meat on them, it's just weird that the stud is so close to the edge. Really this is the first negative thing I've ever seen/read about the Panchitos. Mostly people rave about them. Or maybe just rave at the numbers they list? I don't really know. I just want to get the most for my dollar.

After looking at the price difference on getting the aa heads CNC ported I wish I would have had it done would have saved me alot of time "cleaning them up". That's what I get for being a cheap skate.lol

You are not building a 1600 like the title says anymore correct? If you want 85.5 I’ll sell you these panchitos.

No I'm not building a 1600 (so far). Planning on 82x94. But I could change my mind tomorrow!

Yeah I have to get it cnc ported. Or at least on paper I do. Even getting the 68cc chambers I should still come out to 8.4:1 compression. That's pretty high in my opinion. Thoughts of squishy pistons bouncing around in my head.

8.4 isn't high. A little compression just makes the ride more drivable off boost.

Yeah maybe with EFI it's not. But I've read plenty of guys with 7.5:1 compression that get ping at even fairly low boost. I'm hoping that since I will have some bleed off with that cam it makes it a bit different, and will be ok.

And helps it spool a little faster.

I'm hoping it works great! I have a feeling it will be awesome even if it doesn't boost at all! I see several dynos with a combo like I am doing N/A making around 160hp. I'm sure that's way more than I was making with my old turbo at 10 psi.

Does anyone know if AJ Simms still sucks? I like some of what he's doing there. But if you never get what you order there isn't much point. He sells Mahle pistons and a actually has a pretty good price on Weisco pistons too. Some other stuff as well.
