I remember some of the early VW race cars but mostly remember them screaming by at speed (we usually backed our truck with a platform across the bed to put chairs on at the finish line) and as each bug went by checking to see if anfief our fillings dropped out. Almost as loud as a "fueler" but at a much higher pitch.
