I did that setup to begin with... intercooler radiator on the right.

It suffered pretty terrible heat soak. Once you parked the car, you'd come back and the whole system would be really hot for ages. The fan on it seemed to have no effect. Even after an hour of driving it would be lucky to come back down under 100degF. That's not to say that I got all the air flow right, but I tried a few things and none of them improved that issue. It is an issue with rear engine turbo cars from what I understand.

I had seen that thread. There aren't any pictures of the heat exchanger specifically near the torsion housing. I know how I'm going to mount my intercooler. I'm trying to figure out the most efficient but less barbaric way to get some cool air over the heat exchanger without running a fan, or completely cutting the car to pieces.

Really the only reason is to try and keep the electrical load as light as possible. Would a small fan such as the one on my oil cooler pull enough cfm for a heat exchanger? It only pulls about 5 amps.

If its only operating when things get hot/under boost I wouldn't sweat the current load.
A killer grade radiator fan (Maradyne Champion as an example) will only draw 10-12A and will move a lot of CFM air through a radiator/intercooler core.
You really don't want something that moves air like an asthmatic gerbil blowing through a straw.

The trick is setting it up so it absolutely cannot recirculate hot air...
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
