Re: NEW plan - 1600 TURBO + oval + downunder
So today was the first time in ages my wife has been a passenger in the beetle. Just my luck, the passengers side front caliper bracket decided to come loose just in time for that. So instead of picking the other car up from a service easily, I spent an hour, pulling off the front hub and tightening everything back up. Course I didn't tell her what went wrong. She'd never climb in the car again!

My wife won't ride with me either and I don't think I have done anything wrong … yet. She prefers to drive my Honda Pilot unless the "group ride" has someone else in the Honda.

Re: NEW plan - 1600 TURBO + oval + downunder
Spent a few hours working on this again this arvo...
I added a drain to the bottom of the breather box. A small piece of oil line runs back behind the alternator stand and then dumps into one of Mario's dizzy-delete bungs. It wasn't particularly hard work, but it ticks me off that CB sells this thing that leaks, even when you use RTV on the seal. In fact it seems to just leak everywhere. It's the second time I've had to pull it apart and try and stop the leak. Next time I'll throw it across the garage and find some other way of doing it.

Ive heard of that thing leaking alot.
I just run this little bugpack breater, never had an issue with it. Breating from the valve covers and oil fill port.

Pete......not sure if I have this right but.....looks like you're trying to drain into part of the case but I believe the case will have pressure in it , no ? Crankcase pressure ? I think I have mine there also (Subaru) but it might be something to look at. The fluids will probably drop before the vapours into the case.
What does the top look like ?
