It's V shaped and they call an accumulator groove.
Ross puts it in most all pistons.
Don't totally understand what it does but for whatever reason..........its there.......... 8)

Drove it for the fist time today!!!! :D :D :D I bought ghia 6 years ago with no engine. built an engine over the 6 years (2 kids, new house, yadda yadda) and finally took it down the road. OMG is it fast! only hit 137.5 kpa and it felt sooooo goooood! can't wait till spring when I put some plates on it and can actually leave my street.

A/R means nothing without also knowing which series we're talking about. T3? T25? T66?

What is the diameter of the turbine outlet and the compressor inlet???

I have found that an inlet and outlet diameter of 2 inches gives great power after 3500 rpm with the one turbo I used off of a 1987 Subaru and the turbo I used that had a 1 3/4 inch diameter turbine and compressor inlet and outlet came on strong at 3000 rpm.
Whether they are the best I don't know since the inlet air gets pretty hot at 12 lbs boost but for the $25.00 they cost me it works good enough for now.

Have you done any mods to your 48 dells to run in the blowthru application? I understand that some get away with just adding modulator rings and emulsion tubes.

Thanks

I bought them from someone that was running them on a turbo sand rail. It looks like the mod rings and turbo e-tubes are all that are done to it. I opened up the inlet a little bit and removed the filter but I don't know that it was necessary. It looks like the jetting will be in the ball park already.
