Am I running lean?

With Turbo and Super charging you can create massive horsepower with vw motors.

I bet if you hit the clutch and just give it a blip on the throttle it would clear up enough to keep running. Or if your going to clutch it, go to third to decel.

Yes that is something I’ve been trying out sticking it into a lower gear and letting the engine slow gently before dipping the clutch. I’ve just done my first successful 10 psi run and have richness the mains up to 162 and she’s running 10.3:1 @ 10 psi boost but she is starting to run a little rich on the mains when off boost. If all goes well at 10 psi I will move up to my 13 psi wastegate spring 😁
And then that is my limit cause the max boost I can produce with this combination is 14 psi so I guess there’s no reason to try out the 15 psi spring 😡

Yeah that's pushing it anyway on pump gas.

What would you lot say the SAFE upper limit is for 99 Ron pump gas?
Also Is meth injection worth the cost at my level?

Sorry I don't even know what 99 RON is. And yes. Meth is definitely worth it. Imagine the power you make with 10 psi and then doubling it.

What is your compression ratio?

From everything I've read, on pump gas you should try to keep effective compression ratio at or below 12:1. That would mean 10 psi is just over where you want to be (12.6:1). I'd say if your running 10psi you better be sure your tune is perfect.

Ok I’m looking into this to try and find the upper effective compression limit, but yes 10 psi = 12.6:1 and 8 psi = 11.58:1 so for now I’m going to stick to the 8 psi boost. This might explain why things went wrong for me when I was running 14 psi witch was giving me an effective compression ratio of 14.64:1 😱

Could be. I would get your tune as perfect as you can at 8 psi, then maybe you could creep up a little. Or then you could get meth injection.

Meth injection I think is the way to go just got to find a key for the bug now unless anyone on here can point me in the right direction 😁

Right been looking at some kits now around the £370/$520 and I’m starting to understand how they work but I have two questions to ask
1- does the injector go before or after the turbo?
2- any guess or a way to work out what size injector I need? I’ve found three main/ common ones a 250cc/ min, 500cc/Mum and a 1000cc/min. I’m guessing the 250cc/min ?

Hey Adam, can you find some 'Race Fuel'? if so try a cpl./several Liters
before u crank up the boost too far  8)
glad your getting this thing 'sorted' I knew it had to be something 'simple' LOL ,

Yep she’s up and running great now l, there is a temperature limit where is will not work, the air temperature needs to be over 8 degrees C and I need a minimum split of 6 degrees C between the air temperature and dew point if not she ices up 😡
Race fuel is £100 for 25 litres that’s £4 per litre so very expensive. I think the water/meth injection is a cheaper safer route to take
