OK. Doing inventory. I have . . . stock brake master cylinder, buggy exhaust, window regulators, chrome 4-lug wheels, Bosch 009 distributor. OK, now I need to go out in the garage and look what else I have. I think there are some windows to go with the regulators.

Before you go gathering parts for your Baja Bug, I suggest you get the place sprayed for metal termites.

Motorbreath there isn't much of that shell left some one picked it rather clean, Dusty the metal termites have infected my van once they take hold it is a very arduous task to get rid of them they also tend to leave brown patches near the infected areas that I don't see on that particular body.

Dusty- It is indeed a new pad from when I was building the other Baja, but I've been here almost 4 years. No Metalmites up here in GodsCountry Ca.

Ajdenette- shame really. This baja was the "Free Baja" that Lotrat lined up years and years ago. I facilitated a friend getting it. He used much of the body and glass on his sons baja. The body that was on this was plenty cool enough for my intention... shame he killed it with a sawzall.

I think I've lined up just about everything to have it rolling now.

On a free Body and engine hunt! .. keep your eyes out for me fellas!

There was a short section on the former Spike TV this weekend that had to do with cleaning and treating rust. They used a wire wheel then a chemical spray and primered. More or less what I have done on my buggies.

Be sure to use eye/face coverage and a breathing mask for sure.
