Extended emergency brake cables

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Extended emergency brake cables

Post by Mtnbikr933 » Wed Oct 18, 2017 7:49 pm

I have a 69 baja bug with 2x3 trailing arms and a disc brake conversion. Living in PA we need to have working e-brakes to have the bajas be street legal and with the wider rear end I need longer than stock 69 emergency brake cables. I'm trying to figure out if anyone has dealt with this issue and located a company which has or can make longer e-brake cables.

I'd try these guys. http://www.controlcables.com

I have had them build me a couple cables for other things. Customer service is second to none.

Have also heard that some type 2 (bus) cables can be made to work and are longer.
