Mojave Trail run 2017

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Ed, I will surely dbl shear that bolt, I have done it twice now, bent the bolt that is. Thanks for the info, I'll use it.

CWB, I have a rubber bump stop, I can see where it was hitting the trailing arm, after watching James's Fox bump stops I was feeling lacking :( . I need to video the suspension in action.

Below is the route, the red is the route we took this time, where it meets the blue is where we hooked up with the Mojave trail, all told from house to house it was a little over 400 miles, lots of driving, lots of fun.

I'll get some video posted soon.

Here is a video of the Hill we tackled, it looks in person a lot steeper then what the video shows, it was a bugger to get up. Wayne made it up fine, thought I would to but I didn't put enough oommppfff on the pedal. Second time was using all sorts of boost to get up. It was fun.

This year's run appears challenging an a lot of fun. I will run with you again some day.
If you feel you are picking up speed you may be going downhill.

It was a blast, I had some troubles but we were able to see some new territory, get some speed up (a lot) but best part was having a good time with a great bunch of people. You need to get in on this again Mitch!

David knows his car and knows how to work on it and he keeps his cool. I watched him clean meticulously clean every spline groove on the drive shaft to get the replacement CV back on. Now this is with the side of the car on an incline and nothing but sand to work over.
