So I thought I would get your attention.
Figured it was time to get working on this.

I have had this urge to get something for camping since the drop camp we did for Elk last fall. Thought about a teardrop camper, then a pop up, and when I had about mentally committed the money to that I had an epiphany, build the bus to an off road camper like I originally wanted.
From what I remember I could not drive it because every time I would come to a stop it would die.

I have a new carb supposed to hit my doorstep on the 6th. I think I want to get it going so I can enjoy it and build it kind of slow like I did the Baja. Figured you guys would both encourage and cajole as I go along. The shop has gained some new toys since I was last active to include a milling machine, a plasma cutter, a 20 ton press, a sand blaster and I am working on a forge to cast with.
I have some ideas and decisions to make on how to do it and what to use, but let's start this again.

So I found these tires, they are not the Treadwite's I normally use but the price looks good

Didn't Treadwright change the name after a buyout or something?

Treadwite's still is Treadwite they send me emails from time to time. This other company's is different and Treadwrite doesnt offer any 14 in tires.
Got my carb today, hopefully can work on it this weekend, have a rifle match Sunday.

Been doing a lot of thinking and rediscovered Blind Children Racing and looked at the lift spindles how to. And the wheels started turning. If you can combine two VW spindles to make a lift spindle, why not make a hybrid? I have this '96 Ranger with a 2.3 that I am thinking about using in VW, either the bus or the Baja. And I could turn the bed into a trailer but had no plans for the front. Why couldn't I use the ranger spindles, and brakes and do the BCR lift spindles? I admit the little looking at the spindles was on the internet but the idea intrigues me.

Ok been having trouble getting signed in. Its up on jack stands in the back room of the shop. Got 3 of the 5 tires mounted, the retreads from Tire Recappers in Nashville. passenger side frame rail is almost repaired, working on the cross members and outriggers next. Will work on getting some pictures.

I went on their site trying to find some 33X15 recaps, no dice. Outriggers?

Outriggers are parts of the crossmember outside the frame rail, Jack points are part of them as well.
