Manx build

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Would you post some pics when it is done? Tired of pulling on mine.

I gather you will be going with a king and link beam. Check shock tower clearance unless you are going with a body lift and then if you are going long travel check that too to see if you are going to have to do body mods.

My opinion is worth slightly less than what you paid for it.

Absolutely! Getting closer, used a Swag adapter and a harbor freight cylinder...

For most of us a beam does just great, lot of guys race them at mega speeds. Good choice, don't get caught up in "Keeping up with the Jones"

Well I bent my first test pipe, it turned out perfect... It bent the 1" X .120" wall tube like butter!

Yeah I don't have much into the bender at all, the most expensive part being the dies...
No bend tech pro for me, I already have and use SolidWorks daily...

I have and love Bend-tech. So when using SolidWorks how do you go about setting up and calibrating the actual CLR of the bends to your actual bender? And then converting that to your tube layout as to where to start your bends?

In solid works you can draw the tubes up in a few different ways, the most common way is by using what it calls weldments and creating structural members. You can draw everything on center line add in radii and dimension accordingly. You can even have the program build you a bill of materials to tell you how long each tube is and how many there are of any given length... The program is great and super simple to measure everything...
