Frenchy buggy

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Frenchy buggy

Post by protocox »

Hello

My name's Yan, live in France and build buggy for fun :)

My first buggy was a Manx, now it's my wife's buggy :

Last year, I decide to build an offroad buggy just for me !
In France, it's very difficult to find a Meyers Tow'd or Towdster, but Belgium company mold a look-like Tow'd : the Mexican from APAL.
Then I find a boddy of Mexican and start my new project :)

First job, bending tube

After few days, I could sit on it :D

Do you want more pictures ?

I think you might be one of the first French members here so a big welcome.

Your Mexican looks like it is going to be a very unique ride. Towds are hard to find even here so I suspect there are going to be some jealous followers of your build here.

There is an old saw here that no pictures then it didn't happen!

When I drove through central and southern France in my rented Peugot 206, I was surprised at how many off-road trucks and strange creations I saw. The southern French people definitely won the contest for most custom vehicles on my trip. Now I can see one being made!

Protocox, your English is good. I have clearly understood everything you have said.

Keep Building and keep posting pictures!

Due to my "special front shocks support" my front Hood should be in 2 parts, then I cut it and adjust to my frame

You could see the difference between Mexican & Tow'd body : round seat, wider body +4"...

One picture to see my 2 parts Hood....
