Yes I'm proud!
We are in San Diego getting ready to see our son Christian. 16 weeks ago he left for Marine Corps boot camp, one week in he contacted Scarlet Fever and a couple other problems and was sent to Balboa hospital where he spent 3 weeks. He was finally returned back to MCRD San Diego to start again. Friday he graduates. Haven't had contact with him in 3 weeks and contact is just by snail mail as that is all they are allowed to do. He will be our 3rd generation Marine in the family, I am proud, been there and did that so praying his career how ever long it may be he comes out with the same amount of body parts and happy frame of mind. Semper Fi.

Re: Yes I'm proud!
Congrats, that is a great accomplishment. I still remember going to Shorties friend Jeff's graduation and bringing him back to Utah before he had to report for active duty. Jeff is like our own son to us. Thanks to all who have, are, and will serve to keep us safe and free!

Re: Yes I'm proud!
Congrats! Glad to hear he pushed through and was able to graduate. I went to boot camp there in '89, but I was over on the Navy side of the fence. I went back there again for Machinery Repairman (MR) A school in '93. My brother just retired from the Navy this past December and still lives down in San Dog. It's a big military town down there, but I'm sure you already know that.

Re: Yes I'm proud!
You can tell he is a recent recruit by the straight line smile. Seen that same smile on many "Jar Heads" (you can tell I come from a Navy town can't you) just out of "Boot". It will come back full after retirement I am sure!
Congrats to both the father and the son!
