Cooler must be arms reach from driver's seat. Positive pressure Cabin, open helmets, and cold drinks... that is the dream.

I always thought that the cooler was supposed to ride shotgun and the rear was for the backseat drivers. The latch on the cooler is also supposed to face forwards too.

Thanks for the pics Tim.
I've been thinking along those lines for my beam braces, and stock-ish tank placement. It helps a lot to get a visual.
Right now the problem is too much thinking and not enough doing...

There is also the "fear factor" as well as the "buck factor" and the "spousal abuse (you ain't going to to that Henry, the kids /I need to eat) factor" that can lead to "brain lock". "Brain lock" (anaylsis paralysis) is when you can't think of any other options to solve a/the problem or you keep coming up with the same idea when you know that there has to be better solutions out there.
One of the benefits of STF is you can say or ask something and other options often come up allowing one to re-think or review (often different thought processes, not different words for the same thing) options you have already dismissed; quite often because of added information given that one has missed (sort of a free lance design review you might say or maybe not? ) or the fresh thinking has opened new avenues of thought. Its happened het to me many times. Also, just responding to suggestions has broken the wall of "brain lock" and allowed the "juices" to flow again.
OK, back to work!

I'm learning that. I set deadlines, weather in my head or on paper, which usually coincide with my time in the garage. I can think all I want until the deadline when I put a tool in my hand and hope for the best. With my daily driver it was easy... "must drive to work on monday" was my mantra.Getrdone wrote:Analysis paralysis is what we call it.
I need to sit in the car with a wire brush on my angle grinder for approximately 8 hours... doesn't sound like fun, but really 8 hours is shorter than my work day, and a worthwhile investment, and 8 solid hours in the garage is a lot of time to get things done.
If I'm physically in the garage, and dressed in garage clothes, I do stuff. If I'm passing through or not in the garage, I think about stuff. Practice makes perfect.

Tim, your right! I get my best thoughts not on the outside of the garage but in the garage itself or... at the counter when ordering parts; especially when the total cost of the parts has been presented!
The last one was about a week ago or my local parts house when I was deciding which way to go on my black buggy. Luckily I have guy there that will take the time to talk to me about what is available for what I want to do... and options and opinions. Finallly it got to the point where I said something like: Aw $#!!, lets do it right the first time (then it will be cheaper in the long run). It still wasn't the only way which was (and still is) another arguement with myself. I have yet to come to blows with myself though.

Re: Rusty's Return to Life... A build page.
We have been working on a garage heating solution in preparation for working this winter.
My daughter designed a gravity fed natural draft pellet stove. This isn't the final version, but it is the combustion chamber. It will have cost me about $20 and a few hours work when finished.
This will get mounted between my garage doors and vented through the wall. I am burning about 20,000 btu/hour of fuel at current mixture. Exhaust is less than 150 degrees after I built a secondary combustion chamber. I will be getting some temperature gauges this week to fine tune the mixture.
I am excited by this design because of the quick heat (low mass), good radiant surface for drying painted parts, plus it will have convective heat from the back.
Anyway... I will get more pics and video after it is installed and running...

She and I have a garage weekend scheduled this weekend to get the interior cleaned and painted so we can start welding the cage. I am telling you this so you will hold me accountable for progress.
