Man, it's stuffy in here. It looks as though all of my old pics are gone, and I don't know how to post a new one.

Yeah the photo thing sucks big time. There are a few ways to post pics still. I do them from my phone directly now but after using a photo resizer app and then use the "Attach File".Devastator wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 6:34 am Man, it's stuffy in here. Unfortunately it's way more commitment then it should be.
Good to see you still pop in from time to time though

Re: Devastator's upgrade
Heeeey, that's pretty close to what it looks like right now. Different lights on the front. Homemade lights on the back. Replaced that fugly steering wheel and added a faux "wing" above an intercooler behind the back of the top.
This is my last season with a VW engine.
I've already bought a supercharged, 2.4L Ecotec, to take the place of the VW engine.

Re: Devastator's upgrade
After a full rebuild and upgrade on my 2276 VW engine, I took it on my first trip to the dues for that season. Somehow, my rev limiter blasted a hole through my intake runner. The replacement intake runner was $350! Out of frustration mostly, I bought a 2nd hand 2.4l, supercharged, Ecotec from someone else's project. Drove all the way out to CA. to get it, but ran my 2276 the rest of the season. Ironically, the VW based engine ran flawlessly the rest of the season. This summer, I decided that I was tired of trying to keep building horsepower with an air cooled engine and removed the 2276. Sort of bittersweet as I had just spent some impressive $$ on upgrading it with .600 lift at the valves, split duration cam, ginormous intake runners, super flow heads with 45 mm valves, straight cut timing gears, exhaust "driven" vacuum system, new cylinders, Total Seal rings, new T3/T4 hybrid turbo, added wastegate, added BOV, relocated TB after the turbo instead of before, air to air inter cooler, and a new MSEFI controller.

Re: Devastator's upgrade
I must admit that I a really looking forward to the increased torque and reliability from this engine swap, but will always have a soft spot in my heart for the VW based power plants.

Re: Devastator's upgrade
At the tender age of 50, I was convinced, by my daughter, that I would enjoy tracking a bike. So, I figured, "why the hell not?" Well, the first few track days were sheer terror, but now, a year later, I'm having a LOT of fun with it, although it tires me really fast.
I've had a Shadow 750 for several years, but bought the pictured bike as a track bike only. In fact, it can never be made street legal again. It is a 2004 CBR 600 with an engine out of a 2006 CBR 600. My speedo hits 130 just before I roll off of the throttle, shift down, and take the 2 sequential turns after the straight. I exit those turns at 82, so, I assume I'm taking the turns at around 90.

At the time, it felt as though my knee would drag at any moment. This picture proves otherwise.

This was the last pic I took before removing the ACVW based engine.

Re: Devastator's upgrade
Oh, other life changes.
I built a CNC plasma table to assist in the Ecotec engine swap, and just for the hell of it. My daughter got married in October of last year and I am engaged to be married in September 2020.
