So I am rollin, down State Rt 2 today in the Baja and it starts sputtering and losing power then dies. I roll safely off the berm and get out to investigate the problem, in the drizzling rain.
There is a pin sticking out of the fuel pump that doesn't look right, and it wont push back in. As I am unbolting the pump from the engine I see alternating blue and red lights behind me. A friendly trooper gets out and asks what is going on and I tell him. He says he will stay back there with the lights on till I am done, and then makes sure I get the car running again.
Who else has had their fuel pump disassemble itself like that? Is there something I can do to prevent it? Sorry didnt think to snap a pic at the time. I did get it back together and running no problem, but this is a new one on me.
And on another note, as soon as Income tax comes back I will have the new shop paid off and be getting some rear disc brakes for the car and some fresh yellow paint!
