Run stereo from stock generator?
Another ? Can I run a standard CD 50 wattsx4 head unit, four speakers, plus a bazooka tube off stock generator? I'd like to upgrade to alternator, but funds don't really allow at the moment, figured with the money I saved, get some kick panels, put some 5.25's in front, and my 6.25 out back, and add a powered 8" bazooka tube for a little lows. Decent sounding stereo on a tight budget. Will this work with the standard generator?

I personally bumped up to the 75 amp alternator after having dimming issues with head unit, twi 69 two 6.5, 200watt amp, foglights, h4 headlights, tach lighting, and running the engine. It got so bad that I actually saw about a 200 rpm drop when I turned on all my lighting.
It'll work, just be cautious

Thanks for the replys, I'm thinking just a nice cd/mp3 head unit from Crutchfield, couple 4" in the doors (with sturdier door panels of course) and couple 6x9's in the back, nothing fancy. I plan on spending a little extra dough on deadening material in the doors, floors and the luggage tray to 'tighten' everything up. This stereo should be more than enough for me.

I'm running a stock generator, but dual batteries in my bug. I have to top the batteries up once in awhile with a battery charge, but works fine day to day.My system consists of 2 Alpine MRV 500 amps and 1 MRV 1000 watt amp for the bottom end. I run a single 15" Audiobahn sub, with 6 Apline mid bass and 4 Alpine tweeters. Pulled a 133 db in a contest.

STEREO
Anybody know of a company that makes "spacers" to install bigger speakers in the door panels?? I have 4 KENWOOD 6.5 speakers to instal and they are too "deep" to fit in the door panels...I saw a car last year at the BUGJAM that had "spacers" that went in between the door panels and the speakers to bring them out enough and seemed like a good application.
Thanks
Thanks
