I'm building a 67 bug. I will have a RX7 13b porsche 901 tranny, 944 brakes. ect ect. Basicly a Euro look car. What I'm interested in is pics of custom dashs. I'm planning on having a working heater and A/C. So I'm looking to change the dash to fit the project better. Pics of VW bug without a/c or heater are ok. I've seen the fiberglass dash console. But, I can't find a good pic of it a car. I'm concidering making a completely custom carbonfiber dash. But I'm very reluctant because of the amount a work involve.
Bacsicly what I'm after is pics of dashs so I can better visualise what I want before. I start making something.

I'm making one for myself that is an exact copy of my stock padded dash, except I extended the openening to fit more gauges.
also i took out the glovebox, and the ashtray, because i couldn't get the face of these 2 items to match the final finish of the dash.
today, i'm gonna finish up the fiberglass work, and start with the filler, to smooth it all out

That is a fiberglass copy of the original dash. Just fiberglass matting, resin, and a little bit of patience. Now I'm working on filling it all in with fiberglass filler, and sanding it smooth. Should turn out to look pretty good.
I just took this pic a few minutes ago....not completely done, but getting closer.
When I test fitted again today I noticed that the extended opening gets ever so slightly lower as it goes across...(something I couldn't notice when placing the fiberglass) This flaw is a lot more noticible from the front of the car looking back. If I get some time here this weekend I'll fix that and keep working on the filler and sanding.
