Glove box

I have a problem with my new part [lockable (type squizze)]

It's body is shorter than the old I had which was ruined after many years of use.

The new one is Brazilian and the old one was a German part.
So as I said because of the different size I can't close the glove box because of its length.The old one I had was a non lockable squizzed part
What can I do with this part which is inside

I found also in US sites (aftermarket stores) that they sell this part also the lockable squizzed type for 1303.Can someone tell me if these parts are Brasilian or German.
The one I have now had been ordered from UK store

Ok I fixed it.I rescrewed it forward(the govebox part) and now I am able to close it
