Engine cover rehab

Post by GearheadJim »

Any suggestions for rehabing the underside of the engine cover? The insulation on my cover is intact but the aluminum foil like covering is fairly tattered and needs replaced. What material have you used?

I used some foil faced insulation I got from Summit or Jegs. It is foiled on both sides and is about the same thickness. I cut a piece using the original as a pattern. I then used some aluminum foil tape that is 2" wide used on ducting to seal the edges. Poked holes thru it in the original splots and installed like stock. Can't really tell it from original.
