OK, I have a good 1600cc in my notch that I wanna take out and put in my bug. what do I need to accomplish this? I picked up an adapter for the oil dipstick today. But on my ride home I thought about the oil pressure switch and the different locations on the two cases, how do I make this work? is there anything I have not thought of yet?

for your type 1 cooling are you using a dog house oil cooler? If so you can use the t3 oil cooler and leave the oil pressure switch in it. You'll have to extend the wire to it, but it should work. If your going to use the old style cooling i'm not sure what you can do for the oil pressure switch. Just remember that the dizzy drive pinion is in different for t3s. (you could change it but its not mandatory)

What he's saying is that the distributer drive shaft is turned 60 degrees(I think) from what a bug uses to clear the cooling tin on a type3. I hope this helps.

Does this mean that plug wires are not in the same position as a T1 motor? I know they will be the same on the cap itself but the cap will be rotated 60 degrees. If thats the only issue I dont think I will change it.

Yeah, thats it. The plug wires won't be in the same place on the distributor cap, but they are in the same rotation as a bug(same firing order).
