T3 Sunroof Cables

I was at my local salvage yard and found a mid 80's Jetta with a perfectly functioning sunroof, handles, etc .... Has anyone had any experience with the cables etc and if they would fit in a factory Square sunroof ? They look identical .....

I would pull them out and measure them and see if they are the same length. I know beetle ones are too short. You might ask the type3 list if someone has a length of the stock type3 cable to compare it to.
