Throttle cable follow up question

Post by James Altemus »

Thanks for the information in the previous post. Since I'm unable to register right now, I can't reply to my original post.

What length throttle cable should I get? I found three different part numbers and lengths out there:

311.721.555 - 2525mm (99.41")
311.721.555C - 2510mm (98.82")
311.721.555F - 2610mm (102.76")

I'm guessing that 555C is the cable for the F.I. setup, which would make the 555 cable the correct length. I have no idea what the 555F cable would be used for.

Thanks,

Throttle cable follow up question

Well, I don't have the parts boiok in front of me but I "believe" this is what those numbers translate to.

99.41"= Automatic equipped FI
98.82= Stick equipped FI
102= Carb equipped.

Why don't you measure the one you have that is too short and compare to these ?

Throttle cable follow up question

That is my next step. I found some further information. According to a couple sources, the 555C cable is for a '65 T3 with dual carbs, while the 555F is for '68-'73 Automatic. Then I found a 555G, which I don't have a application for. I'll be working on the car tomorrow, so I'll just pull the cable while I'm at it.
