nose cone question
Hello, I've got a quick question. On a swing axle type 3, is the nose cone a specific type 3 part? Thanks!

Re: nose cone question
You can use any 2-bolt nosecone with a casting number starting in 311, 113, or 131 on a swingaxle or IRS Type III application provided it has provision(s) for whatever switch(es) you intend to use - even an early`60s Bug one with no seal and 8mm stud holes provided you drill them out to 10mm (and don't need a backup-light switch).
Only the hockey stick is specific, it's the same shape as a 4-speed Type I but has only one shiftcoupler screw detent (facing down). A Type I hockey stick can be used but only if you redrill the detent so it's 180° from the one on top. A Type II hockey stick has the single detent on the bottom but is the wrong shape at the business end; an AutoStick hockey stick is all wrong (too short, single detent that's NOT exactly on top)
