This is not for a street car. I'm looking at hanging the engine/trans to the bodywork at the transmission for easy of access/removal of the engine in my 72 notch. Has anyone done this before? If so, do you have any pictures? I have an idea in my head, but would like to see what others have done.
Thanks!

If you want frame horns, Berrien buggy sells a nice CrMo tubular weld on arrangement and diagonals for ~$100.
If you want a crossbar across the top to hang it from using a plate, someone went that route, pics somewhere in the T3 forum or the gallery.
The rear crossbar does get in the way a bit.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

I like the frame-horns that Pile referred to. That is the route I would go. Then make a custom truss set-up to stiffen it all and help tie it to the body.
If you're going to race it, you will want to replace the rubber isolators for the rear suspension assembly with the billet aluminum ones that are available on thesamba.com.
