Hi,
I found that the gearbox mount in my '72 Square (automatic) has broken. I can convert this to a solid one until I can find a replacement rubber mount.
But are the mounts unique to Type 3s, or can a different mount be used from maybe a Bug or Vanagon or something like that?
Thanks
Steve

It's a steel plate with 4 holes (captive nuts) that bolts to the chassis and another plate with 2 holes that bolts to the nose cone of the gearbox. Between the plates is a bonded rubber block.raygreenwood wrote:Hmmm.....what does it look like? (I should know this ) Ray
Mine has come apart, but it looks like I have managed to find a decent used one. So, happy days!!

Still up to that offer, Ray?
An original would be needed as a core, the cast steel bits are required...
A service rebuilding them might be viable, as they are NLA.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
