Air-flow sensor and FI questions

Post by charley »

same post different section.
Is the air-flow sensor suppose to have oil in it. Will this keep the fuel injectors from squirting. If the cold start value is stuck open will this cause the injectors not to squirt? Does anyone know where to get a pressure gauge that will mount on the fuel rail or what to buy for this? The bus is trying to live but just ain't there yet. Last question what type of fuel injection is on a 79 bus with a GE block?

L-Jet do you need varient they are pretty much all the same (77-79 non California).

How do you know the injectors aren't squirting.

No--the cold start valve is a supliment to regular fule when it's cold.

Oil in FI air path could mean that the injectors are very dirty.

There is a way to sorta check fule dilivery without gage.

Disable ignition--remove coil wire
Remove fule line from T too the cold start
valve
Start fule pump by turing over engine with key or use arflow meter flap.
catch fule in something.
Fule dilvery = 1.5-20 liters/min.
Be carfull don't burn yourself up.

I meant to say there is oil in the sensor itself. when you remove the black top to see the electronics there is about a table spoon of oil. should it be there?
