Did you fix the issue?
On your last pic the idle screw stop looks like it's hitting the carb which could be cause an issue on that side of the engine since it will allow more air in to the carb.

1970 VW Beetle with 2109cc turbo with MS-II v3.0, wasted spark, electronic boost controller, dual table, launch control and 3.88 tranny. All done by me...

looks to me that the arm is touching the casting? bend it up a bit so it clears
