Yet another injector question
i'm finally ready to buy injectors and have been eyeing these for some time; http://www.siemensdeka.com/index.php?ma ... ucts_id=12
it's looks to me that they'll fit, they will be used in cb performance efi end castings and rails. seems that a 14mm o ring is the proper size for both. but will the length be an issue?
Also, the engine is a mild 1776cc with turbo in the very near future. Will 60lb be to big?

Re: Yet another injector question
I put hard line in my build and only used EFI hose where I had to.
There is a short piece between the hard line in the tunnel to the hard line going to the fuel rails. I also used hard line to go between the two rails.
A lot less chance of a leak from rubbing or pinching.

Hi,
I'm new to all this but I believe 60lb. Injectors are way to big for a n/a 1776cc engine even thou you haven't provided much info about your engine.
I'm in the process of converting my 1776cc 1970 bug to EFI. I turned it on a few times with injectors then I decided to go all the way. Spent money on one type of VR setup then sent my pulley to thedubshop for the hidden wheel and sensor setup.
My injectors are from a chevy lumina which were given to me for testing but I do not have the specs for them. For now they will to do.
I would go 24lbs. tops on my setup.
This is my build:

1970 VW Beetle with 2109cc turbo with MS-II v3.0, wasted spark, electronic boost controller, dual table, launch control and 3.88 tranny. All done by me... t03 running 48lb. Injectors, Intercooler, Water/Meth injection at 15psi.

your build looks to be going swimingly! well it's to late to turn back on the injectors now, i can always swap at a later time..

Re: Yet another injector question
I'm running 32 lb. injectors on my 1679 cc engine with 11 lbs. boost now and hoping to go to 15+ lbs.
If you have them try em. The REQ_Fuel settings should compensate for them but you might have trouble at idle if your open time is really low.

Re: Yet another injector question
I have been eyeballing those same injectors for my gsxr ITB's. 60# isn't too big for a small NA motor, with these modern injectors you will have no problem with small pulse width at idle. Case in point, I ran ID1000's at 70psi base pressure and it idled smoother then the stock 310cc injectors. Yes, I needed that much fuel: e85 and a couple of bar's of boost plus a 8600 redline...my fuel setup was maxed out.
Old crappy RC injectors is another story, they idle like poop if you go too big but the new stuff is amazing.

give them a try, you'll probably be just fine. Its just motivation to get the turbo on there sooner.

Re: Yet another injector question
what you all are saying is exactly my reasoning for going big! I hear these injectors are particularly good at low pulse widths with high pressure. the turbo will be going on about a soon as the weather pemits me to work outside.. but still need to build the W/A intercooler, looking forward to that

I installed my regulator under the package tray. It makes pulling the line for engine r&r easy to get to, it is easy to adjust the pressure on in that spot, and it is stealth.

Me too, mine is a pain to adjust the pressure on though, nature of the beast. All steel full bodied car. Sure would be nice to cut the back like a baja sometimes.Steve Arndt wrote:I installed my regulator under the package tray. Re: Yet another injector question
probably not, but i have the means available to me to fab a custom one. And a bare core is about a quarter the cost of a coplete intercooler
In the end, I'll feel better about detonation if I have one than not
