F-type, weatherpack is also F-type.

The crimper jaws will have 2 sizes per nest, the outer is to hold the insulation, inner the wire.

There's the version for dsub pins,
IIRC the larger sizes use Paladin 2033

These are for the Paladin crimp-all tools.

You may be able to get a dedicated one-size crimper for your immediate needs cheaper, but the Crimp-Alls rock.

One for weatherpack: has individual nests for various stages of the crimp, looks like it will cover most F-types:
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

I have these, and about six other similar styles. Always make a few practice runs to get just the right jaw size for the crimp/wire.

I'm going to take a stab at using the VE table generator and I need some performance estimates.

To recap the engine, it's a 90.5x82 2110 with 3.325" rods. CR is 8.2:1.

The cam is an SLR EXV264Hyd on 106º lobe centers. Duration is 264º for both intake and exhaust with lift of .378 (.491 inches with 1.3 ratio rockers). The heads are worked autolineas with 38.5mm intake and 34.3 exhaust valves. Single HD springs. 1-1/2" exhaust (Vintage speed muffler). The TBs measure 36mm. Revs will be limited to 5k.

Any guesses what this will make at sea level?

Max HP @ what rpms
Max Torque @ what rpms.

OK, using 105 HP @ 5300, 115 ft/lbs @ 3250 and a redline of 5400 rpms, all at 100 kPa this is the map.

I have now worked with 2 of the vintagespeed exhausts. Neither one has fit properly... Kinda unfortunate for an otherwise nice and expensive exhaust system.

They are also really hard to tune at low speed and idle... I think it's the very large open chamber that allows lots of free air to mix at light loads.

Yeah, my engine guy got a look at that picture and said he doesn't like the exhaust either. :-\

Since it's here, I may as well try it.

They sound good :)

He had to take this one back off after this and do some resealing to fix a couple exhaust leaks

So I'd really like to know what these injectors flow in lbs/hour. I can't turn the numbers on the Pro Flow test sheet into anything that makes sense. When I asked Pro Flow for help they just offered to tell me if I would send the injectors back to them. :-\

So I've been hoping there is someplace I can just look up the specs based either on the injectors themselves or the original application. I'm coming up dry. The original VFR 800 application makes 110 hp @ 10500 rpm ( http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/ ... c%2006.htm ) so if you believe that HP is directly related to flow (and therefore fuel) these should be just what I need.

Now, the calculator at http://www.witchhunter.com/injectorcalc1.php says that a 110 HP 4-banger needs 17.2 lb injectors.

Thoughts?

Nuther question.

This diagram from http://www.msextra.com/doc/general/sparkout.html says the view is "into the coil". That still does tell me if the coil is above or below the connector.

So is this "into the coil" or do I have it upside down?

is that for LS-1 coils or 2? (or another diagram?)

if you look at those diagrams the plug has a tab on it, i would use that as my guide to compare it to my plug.... if that makes sense?

LS2. And the tab on the outside is what the connector clips onto. But there are also two tabs on the inside of the connector.

I am wary of hooking it up backwards (no good ever comes from that) and am hoping for someone to check me on this before I apply power.

Still having problems getting spark.

Mario has straightened me out on some wiring issues.

We are driving the LS2s from the expansion board according to the msextra diagram with 2, 3, 8, 12 and 17 all grounded to the 12v battery I am testing with.

http://msextra.com/doc/ms3/hardware.html#wiring-ms3x

On the LS2, A is ground, B runs to pin #7 (sensor ground) on the main board, C is pin 14 (for spark A) on the expansion board and D is +12.

Image

No joy.

The hidden VR seems to be working fine and I get ~300 RPM cranking rpms.

Test mode on TS also does not generate a spark signal or light up the SPK3/4 - SPK1/2 indicator I put on my TS dashboard. Could someone running wasted-spark COP verify that this indicator works in this configuration?

I am stuck.
