THE CAR:
66 Beetle, full steel (less Aronson decklid)
THE ENGINE:
The basis engine is a 2180, Fk8, S/E head, 48IDA.
Pulling good 162hp and best ET on 1/4mile is 12.806@167 (No glue one French strip).
I will use my V3.0 MS2 which is currently assembled on a 1600, equipped with all the hardware of a EFI Mexican ACD flat4 engine.
For my race engine I sought everywhere thottles with IDA pattern without any result.
I thus sought in many the throttle which equips the motor bikes nowadays.
Still I ran up has a wall…. Impossible to find bodies with 46mm + butterfly.
My choice it is related to the throttle bodies of 996 Ducati which have the characteristic to have 2 injectors per body.
A very good choice since after test it proves that the injectors make 270cc EACH!!!

But these bodies do not have that advantages, indeed, those are, of origin, to actuate by linkage. But their provisions on the large twin-cylinder is not appropriate at all for the VW engine compartment .
It has was necessary to me to find a solution.
I separated the bodies from their fixings and tried to place them on the IDA manifold.
While directing them not in line, I can place it but now it is the traditional linkage which is impossible to install.

I plane to use a throtle cable which will not be very easy has to develop but….
To help me to find a solution in the fixing of the bodies I reproduced those using a software of 3D and I drew flange single rather than a flange for 2 bodies.

The parts are being watercutted.
I would keep you informed of advanced of this assembly.
