OBX 914 header (mount pointing forwards for bug/bus?)
Spotted link on 914club: http://www.914club.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=222950

That's an OBX 914 4>1 header, $250. In 304 SS no less...
Yes, it's made in China.
OTOH it probably fits as well or better than the EMW pipes.
It's also $250. You almost can't buy the SS mandrel bends for that.
For Non 914teeners, consider mounting it backwards. (pointing forwards)
For another ~$50-75 you can put a GOOD collector on it.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

What a joke, looks to be a kerry hunter copy, no stub pipes. Then the add says race proven & dyno tested, another joke.
Unfortunately, people will buy it, that is if they haven't lost their jobs to china yet.
At least it was the least desirable one.

I was in a dark place a t the time, lashing out.
Oddly enough, I am back to work at the same company, just not the awesome job that I had.

Sadly, these seems to be the "expected" quality, not sure even cutting and welding on new stubs will fix

Kerry Hunter is making the real thing again, but not is SS, ~$400.
I think I'll put the $$ into a decent welder and roll my own.

... I'm pretty sure you'd object to me "borrowing" your welder permanently.
I have a LOT of work to do aside from some header configs I want to try. (914 needs 4 fenders + chassis stiffeners in etc)
There's a guy on Dallas Craigslist who seems to move a lot of Lincoln MIG welders out of his garage...
New in box 180(185?) HD for $400 w/all the required bits, regulator etc...
I need to run some background checks etc to see if it's legit w/low markup or faux Lincoln from China.
I'm quite disappointed the OBX headers ended up being as totally craptacular as they ended up, I really wanted to try that setup in my Squareback with the Phase9 silencer/CFR muffler I picked up new/unused.
(would have loved to have also scored the header that went with it originally)

Re: OBX 914 header (mount pointing forwards for bug/bus?)
well, it would not be a problem for you to borrow it for a month.
It works well, just blew a fuse last month, when using it on too long of an extension cord.
(I am too busy, looking for a job again, to put it to a whole lot of use)

Thanks for the offer, ... I do have a 100' RIDGID 10 ga extension cord, although it may get new ends RSN for 220V.
We need to get together for coffee, PM me with your schedule if it has changed.
Back to the OBX headers... the seller I've been talking to on Ebay seems to be genuinely interested in resolving the issues with the headers (if only to get OBX to recall them so he can ditch his stock of them with less pain)
I wished him luck and offered to send a scrap mockup head to check fit against, at least to some extent, and a pair of the stubs I made up (F&R) so he can see how they are supposed to fit.
Right now he has some and the only way he can know if they are right/wrong or whatever is sell them to someone with a 914 and see if they come back... He sells misc. car parts for LOTS of cars, he doesn't have a 914.
