For a 901 gearbox? AFAIK, the standard 901 boxes (and the 914 boxes that are derived from them) are all 7:31. It's usually best if they're kept with their transmission cases, as well, due to the tolerances involved.

Dave, THANKS for your help. I am having a 5 speed tranny built for my Fridolin and the R&P i supplied him had a crack in it. So i was trying to find another. Do not know anything about them. However i did find another whole tranny for 300. i just hate tearing it apart for 2 gears. Any advise?

Well, I don't really know what a Fridolin is, but if you were installing the trans into a 914, I would say just use the "new" one rather than the one with a crack in the R&P. As I said, it is generally considered the best practice to keep the ring and pinion and transmission case all together, so tolerance stack doesn't jump up and bite you.
