Subaru conversions running 'open loop' ?

Post by panel »

Any of you guys running open loop ?

I think I have a bad O2 sensor ( I only have one in my year/model etc) and I've heard guys just running them in an open loop mode by un plugging the sensor. I can't un-plug cause mine was cut so short so I extended it and just running the wires to a 12v+ switched , negative and to the ECU(3 wire).

I guess I could cut the wire to the ECU ? Does it need to pull to ground after that or ?

It's not that I don't want to buy one it's just I'm doing the research as to which one to buy. NTK , Bosch or supposedly the OEM is a Denso but right now mine is fitted with a Bosch.

(My motor is an EJ20 JDM Turbo V5-V6)

I would not run that engine in open loop.

Why do you think it is bad ?

If you want run open loop you can do it without disconnecting anything. Just disable 'incorporate afr' in the settings and the MS will ignore the lambda sensor.
