I just realised that I never updated the car on here.
Project has been going on for a while/ 3 years in the current water-cooled phase.
It's a 1955 replica speedster with a 2.0l 8v SOHC vw motor from a Mk1 golf. We initially did the conversion to see if it would work and now that we know it does, it's time to trip it all down and to make it look nice.
Initial conversion used a Honda civic radiator, and now we've decided to go about double the size and mount a radiator from a Mk1 golf as it's way cheaper locally and the quality is OEM.
The Car in its current state. Maybe another months worth of work left on it before it can be painted.
This gives you an idea of how much we had to cut away and move it to get the bigger radiator to fit.

Sorry, I just looked at it again. I thought the pan was still on it. I didn't realize it was just the body.

Pan was the first thing to pull out........as work is on the go on that as well.

Body was flipped back over, over the weekend so that work can start on filling the gaps in the backseat area and also to fill up all the old holes from the old install from the old radiator.
I love the new set-up. The radiator albeit twice the size takes up less space than the old one because we were now able to go wider than before.
Sits lower, but not lower than the car. Cooling duties will be taken care of by a scoop. That big gash in the nose will also be filled.

Well we got everything in the front that needed to go there with some cutting and slicing.
Radiator is in the nose, battery is mounted in its own compartment behind that, the fuel tank was flipped and moved back towards the firewall so that we could also get a tire inside there as well.
This weekend is making it look all nice and then flip it back over for hopefully the last time.
