G'day piledriver. sorry for delay. the engineer will look at your proposal then make suggestions as to the best practise. Once you have completed the task he then gives you the nod to carry on building. We come under what's know as the NCOP google it. It has made building a car a lot easier in a lot of ways.

That's actually brilliant to have a national set of sane standards.
Here it's mostly hands off/anything goes...
If it stops, has turn signals and all the (minimal) safety features like belts, doesn't spew fluids and sound like a Cessna, its good to go, but that makes a great deal of sense. (Some states and of course Canada (varies by province?) have insanely rigid rules allowing virtually zero performance or even lighting mods)

Here in Texas, my favorite rule is if you don't have a windshield, you don't need wipers.
(Seems reasonable)
...and you don't have to have a windshield or fenders, or a body for that matter, street legal tube frame rails are regularly seen.

G'day all. Back again been slowly sorting front suspension the inner CV's ha to be modified by machining the splined shafts off leaving a spigot to fit inside the diff shafts off the commodore diff. the front shafts are out of a Mitsubishi Magna same spline right length for the project.

this is the roof I plan on fitting shortly. Toyota town ace. it will trim it to the bottom of the roof line where it meets the pillars sit it on top mark around it the cut the bus roof inside the cut line sit it on the line to make up joiner panels between the 2

That is true on the dunes anyway.

There are national DOT standards but there are also state standards and in some states they are very tight while in some states they are incredibly lax. In WA they are tight (depending on the amount of influence of the automotive and RV industry) for the most part and I think CA is there also.
