More exhaust work Saturday. I can just hear it now

( 2.5" Mandrel 'J' bends )

All that I have to do re exhaust work is have the bellmouth redesigned for where the wastegate is.

After being at the welders shop the other night I was able to progress a little more and knock off some things off my to do list thus enabling me to stuff 8 out of the 10 bags of poop in the 1 bag area

Thanks so much Ron :D

.........also had a chance to pick up a 45deg mandrel bend (2 3/4") for the intake and grabbed some stainless off cuts from the local muffler shop for the intercooler to the throttle body.

Had my Dad over a few weeks ago to do some mock up of the radiator.

And just the other day I tackled some wiring. This scares me the most out of the whole build.

I think it's just the nervousness of turning the key and what follows after that.

More Subaru porn........

3/8" water jetted out and -8 fittings welded on for the AOS(air oil seperator) and the oil filler is half Vw and half Subaru.

No update since September = Yuck!

Grabbed this Russell fuel 'y' to use in my AOS system I'm building. Basically a Perrin copy of the layout. Little overkill but , ahhh.

Image

Then I also grabbed one of these turbo blankets to keep the heat down in the engine compartment.eBay contact was from another forum member here, thanks.

Also loaded up on some small fuses and some relays to help with the wiring. Getting closer :)

Sweet Panel. When "overkill" is just enough! Looking forward to see what you come up with on your AOS.

Hmmmmm , got spark while cranking boys but she won't start. I'll have to somehow check for fuel spray from the injectors. Any ideas ?

Maybe first check that your fuel system is under pressure? Crack a fuel rail fitting and see if anything tries to squirt out? No smoking while performing this operation! :-)

I think next I'd try to see if you can detect the injectors turning on/off - listening, maybe feeling them while cranking? Just shoot'in from the hip here.

Maybe pull a plug, see if any are wet with fuel.
