She ran today .......the RPM kinda gained more than I liked so I shut her down. No lap top connected. Don't think it's a vacuum problem so might be just the timing table that's loaded ?

I was able to repeat it half a dozen times.

Found out why it started to accelerate (at idle) away from me. When I made the block off plate to by-pass the idle it just capped the outer hole. It still has the bypass hole connected from each side of the throttle plate internally , so basically a vacuum leak. I'm going to tap a 1/4" NPT into one of the holes....this should work better :)

Not much......rad is almost ready and fixed the above problem.Got my 1/8" silicone vacuum line installed and MS is properly mounted. Nothing left in the motor compartment to do so that's nice. Also ran the DB9 cable under the bus and into the area under the front seat. This will help clean up the cable stringing from under the rear westy bench/bed and over the bulkhead like I had it for a long time. Other than that pretty much all of my check-list is done. Bleed the coolant system of course but that's about it.

I'm at school now for my 3rd yr Millwright. In my 4th of 7 weeks. So when I'm home I'm hoping to have her on the road for the summer etc.

Finally got around to adding 1/2 a liter to my oil pan. Here are the few stages that took place.....

What it looked like originally

Image

First cuts with and angle grinder and a Jig saw with a metal blade

Image

New section bent up and tig'd

Image

slid into the void

Image

Image

tack welded into place

Image

chem dipped to bare metal

Image

fully welded now

Image

and powder coated

I've relocated my turbo drain to the oil filler instead of the oil pan.

I've also purchase a new rad. It's 19 x 27.5 x 3" double pass. I also added 3 x petcocks to help bleed the system.2 where the in/out's are and one on the top at the other end (middle).

Sorry, but won't that drain oil away from the pickup during hard acceleration?

It will already be ~full of oil, so no.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

I've run like that for a couple of years and haven't had any problems.

You guys prolly forgot out my build eh? I haven't :D I've been working on my over heating problems and finally got it sorted out running this configuration (no heater matrix though):

Also since that worked out so well I decided to make a nicer top for my header tank with welded AN bungs.

I can now idle in the driveway for 20mins with no over heating ......had one fan cycle on/off but so far so good :!: I also boxed it in as much as possible and ducted a nice scoop into it.

In the works is new intercooling piping plus an intercooler fan this Fall......stay tuned......she hasn't been on the road since 2013

Well I still haven't actually licensed her to drive but I did a bit around the block. This past winter I thought I had the final task done and it was adding the fan to the intercooler and gold taping it for heat. Well that didn't go so well as some guys had told me it wont work :( It'll have a ton of heat soak due to the lack of air movement at the rear of the bus. I caved in on my idea and sourced out an Air to water intercooler capable of up to 395Hp. I'm not there I don't think.... but it leaves me with maybe 100hp buffer 8)

I purchased the Type 8 CLICK HERE from Silicone Intakes. Made a cardboard template for it and thought with a little modification this would be the right choice.

I have a little more to go as for the welding parts like the fill point but really close now ! The radiator I chose is from an ATV and measures 8 x 12 x 1" thick. I've relocated the in/out and added 2 x AN12 fittings and have them running diagonally to get as much water passing the whole core. It will also have an 8" fan on it controlled buy the ECU. The pump is a Bosch part number 0 392 022 002 and is used in many of the supercharged Mustang Cobras and supercharged Mercedes flowing at 317 GPH.

Here are some of the parts to make it work and some of the mods along the way......
